Hyundai began its SEMA push on Monday with a 1,000-hp Genesis coupe from Bisimoto Engineering. We're not sure how the company managed to squeeze that many ponies out of the Genesis' 3.8-liter V6. We're guessing alchemy has something to do with it.

The poll also named Norfolk-based Lotus as the most popular British manufacturer, with seven of its models making the 100 best British cars list. Lotus has unveiled its first special edition supercharged Elise. Dubbed Clark Type 25 Elise SC, the new model commemorates legendary F1 driver Jim Clark, who died 40 years ago at Hockenheim. Inspiration comes from the Type 25 F1 car Jim Clark won the 1963 world championship in, so the SC is British racing green with a central yellow stripe, plus black and silver Lotus Sport wheels.
